Use a purpose made incense burner with good quality charcoal discs Failing this, only light charcoal on a heat proof surface such as ceramic or a household brick Beware of possible ignition from sparks. Never leave unattended For best results, form a piece of aluminium foil into a bowl shape and place on top of the lit charcoal disc. Place the incense on the foil.
